Solicitors Fees
Generally, these fees are not dissimilar to UK, but should be established before appointing an independent lawyer.
Local Authorities taxes, Refuse collection, street lighting, sewerage etc all come under this heading and should be budgeted at around 250 Euros plus per annum.
Insurance
Household insurance is the responsibility of the purchaser and should be budgeted at 3.50 Euros per 2,000 Euros of cover.

Utilities
Charges for utilities are based on meter usage and paid directly to the relevant authorities on a regular basis throughout the year (direct debits can easily be set up).
All utilities are considerably cheaper than in UK.
Communal charges
Some properties are sited in complexes which need to be constantly maintained, pools, gardens, private roads, parking etc usually by an appointed maintenance company, payment for which is made by each owner contributing to a central fund.
On the larger complexes of apartments a communal charge will be levied usually pro rated to the amount of covered square metres of each apartment.
There can be no estimate for this charge since each complex is different, but the figure should at least be estimated by the Developer, as a guide, before the purchase.
